Giving back

My HR Hub has always offered complementary HR and business workshops in collaboration with partners such as D2N2, The Big House, the East Midlands Chamber, The Leicestershire LLEP, Local start-up hubs, Loughborough University, Nottingham Trent University and many others.

My HR Hub currently works with a range of charities and not-for-profits in the UK and offers them complementary and discounted HR services, products and solutions.

Our team works with local universities to offer support to their students in as many ways as possible – including student placements and internships, guest lecturing, career mentoring and academic case studies.

To minimise our carbon footprint, we work remotely where possible to minimise travel, employ a fully remote team that works from home and promote cloud-based and digital HR solutions to our clients in order to minimise paper usage.

We also emphasise CSR with our own clients and encourage them to give back via Charities, STEM Ambassadors, Universities and Colleges in their local communities and more.

On a personal note, Rebecca was delighted to win the Nottingham Trent University – Outstanding Alumni Award in 2023 for her contribution towards the University, the students and the local community.

"We first engaged My HR Hub in early 2017. We were keen to explore the option for an SME like ourselves with 45 employees to move away from the traditional in-house HR Director model to an outsourced solution.

My first impression was the genuine interest that My HR Hub showed in us and its people and the specific needs of our business. They also spoke with passion about how they could bring their experience and ways of working established with other clients to provide the required support and add value to our business. This gave me and our management team the confidence to take the significant decision to move to a new way of delivering our HR agenda. Over the last year, My HR Hub’s initial focus was to ensure that continuity was maintained across our core HR processes, as we transitioned to the new combination of them working alongside our line managers and support staff. For our first Employee Engagement exercise, an innovative alternative to traditional Staff Satisfaction surveys. My HR Hub held one-to-one conversations with each of our staff members, with a combination of structured questioning and free-form discussion giving the opportunity for individuals to raise points that were important to them. My HR Hub then analysed and consolidated the output into a meaningful summary of the key themes. They are now working with the Management Team and myself to develop these themes into our HR strategy and priorities for the coming year.

My HR Hub has also recommended an online Recruitment tool. This is proving to be an effective, cost-efficient and streamlined way to recruit for SMEs like us. We have saved over 100k so far."

“I recently joined a new firm and was introduced to My HR Hub through a colleague as there was an urgent need to introduce a new HR database. Without delay My HR Hub presented the services they offered and we were so excited about the product that we introduced the new service within a few weeks.

“Our business had grown quickly, as had our workforce. We were beginning to find it difficult to spread our company values and standards amongst new recruits and staff turnover was high compared to previous years. We couldn’t figure out exactly what the problem was but knew we needed to act to restore the harmony we once had as a smaller business.

We turned to My HR Hub for help. They organised and ran an engagement project for us; gathering information through a series of questionnaires and interviews with the team. The information we got was detailed, precise and very powerful. The project told us what our people thought about us, their managers, their workplace and the business as a whole. The results allowed us to launch a framework of improvements and adjustments that has been ongoing for the past 24 months. “My HR Hub were an invaluable asset in helping us to register and attain a Visa for a Chinese national that was working for us under a Student visa scheme. We were extremely keen to retain our employee and utilised My HR Hub’s thorough knowledge in getting registered on the government SMS scheme.

This is a complicated process that requires knowledge of SMS, Visa requirements, job advertising, the long list of paperwork required and ensuring we were compliant with current legislation.

The My HR Hub team were there to guide us through by preparing a thorough step by step guide, completing research, and placing job adverts on our behalf. Our employee was granted her Visa, thus enabling us to secure the continuity of her knowledge and skills which is vital to an SME.
